How the Inclinometers function and what are its different applications?

The Slope Indicator is used to measure the slope of the inclined surfaces. The functioning of an Inclinometer is as follows:

The readout unit is switched on and the system is checked by keeping the probe's bottom in a stable place while moving the top along the axis of the measurement, i.e. the two top wheels. The reader displays values that match the specified tilt angles with polarity. Using fundamental trigonometry, reading can be interpreted.
When setting up the Inclinometers, care should be taken to take a number of measurements by ensuring that the guide wheels are inspected for free bearing play and tightened when necessary. Lubricant should be applied to the assemblies of wheel bearings. Cable connectors should be shielded by caps to avoid the connections of the connector from harm or contamination. For a watertight seal between the probe and the cable, an O-ring is used.

Some of the common applications of Inclinometer are mentioned below:

Now we will see some of the main fields of implementation of Clinometers. They help to determine the angle of the Earth's magnetic field with regard to the horizontal plane and to determine a deviation from the real vertical or horizontal. For study purposes in particular to determine the angle of inclination or elevation and to monitor the boom angle of cranes and material handlers, the inclinometers are used. They can also be used to measure the height of a construction, tree or other items using a vertical angle and range using trigonometry. Thus, we have seen the major applications of inclinometers or tilt meters.
